As Lutherans, we embrace the Bible-based teachings of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther, whose 16th-century Reformation work is summarized in three core doctrines.
Grace Alone
God extends love to sinful humanity. He sent Jesus to love the unlovable and save the ungodly.
Scripture Alone
The Bible is God’s inerrant and infallible Word, in which He reveals His Law and His Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ.
Faith Alone
Jesus purchased and won forgiveness and eternal life for us. Those who hear this Good News and believe have the eternal life that it offers.
The Synod’s name comes from Greek words meaning “walking together.” Its congregations are voluntarily united in a shared confession of Christ as taught in Holy Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions, which are gathered in The Book of Concord.
