Town and Country Lutheran Church keeps this website so that our neighbors can find us, learn what we believe, and know when we gather. We are a congregation, not a business, and we have no interest in collecting more about you than that work requires.

What we collect
You can read every page of this site without telling us who you are. We do not ask visitors to register, and we do not maintain a login for anyone outside the church office.
Two measurement services do run on these pages. Google Analytics counts how many people visit, which pages they read, and roughly what part of the world they are in. Google Ads tells us whether someone who clicked one of our advertisements went on to read about our services. Both work by setting a small file, called a cookie, in your browser. Neither one tells us your name, your address, or your email.
Our web host keeps ordinary server records, which include the address of the computer making a request and the page it asked for. These are the routine logs that every website keeps, and they are used to keep the site running and secure.
Cookies, and how to refuse them
A notice appears the first time you visit, and it offers you the choice. If you decline, the measurement cookies are switched off for you and your choice is remembered for a year. You may change your mind at any time by reopening the cookie notice, or by clearing the cookies for this site in your browser settings.
Some pages carry material that is served by another company, and that company may set cookies of its own once the material loads. Our live-stream and sermon archive pages embed video from YouTube. Our calendar page embeds Google Calendar. Our giving page sends you to Vanco, which handles the offering, and to Cars Helping Charities for vehicle donations. What those companies collect is governed by their own privacy policies, not by this one.
When you write to us
Our contact page lists telephone numbers and email addresses. If you write or call, we keep what you send us for as long as we need it to answer you and to carry on the pastoral or administrative business you raised. Prayer requests and conversations with the pastor are handled as pastoral matters and are not entered into any mailing list or advertising system.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade information about visitors to anyone, for any price.
- We do not share what we collect with other organizations, apart from the measurement services named above.
- We do not run advertising on this site, and no advertising network is paid to place anything on these pages.
- We do not knowingly collect information from children. Our pages for children and youth are written for parents to read.
Your choices under California law
California residents may ask what information about them this site holds, ask that it be deleted, and direct us not to share it for advertising purposes. Declining the cookie notice accomplishes the last of these immediately. For the others, write to the church office at the address below and we will answer within the period the law allows. We will not treat you differently for asking.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top is updated. We will not quietly begin collecting something this page does not mention.
